Hessequa Municipality is currently investigating a security incident on the internal email exchange server. Since yesterday afternoon, 02/06/22 – complaints were received from users on the hessequa.gov.za domain as well as external stakeholders about potential spam. Hessequa ICT picked-up on a number of “IMPERSONATION/SPOOFING” attempts from official mailboxes and is currently applying remedial actions. In the interim all internal & external stakeholders are advised to be extremely cautious and first validate any communication before opening any links of attachments
