Hessequa Municipality, at a Council Meeting held on 25 February 2026, provisionally approved the Electricity Cost of Supply Study as part of the preparation for the 2026/2027 proposed electricity tariff application to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).
A virtual presentation on the Electricity Cost of Supply Study and the proposed 2026/2027 electricity tariff application will be held as follows:

Electronic copies of the Electricity Cost of Supply Study and the proposed tariff application are available on the municipal website at www.hessequa.gov.za or may be requested via email at Matebuo@hessequa.gov.za.
Hard copies will be available at all municipal offices and libraries from 11 March 2026. The public is hereby further invited to make written submissions for the 2026/27 proposed electricity tariff application until 24 March 2026 at 15:00.
The inputs must be submitted in writing to: The Municipal Manager, P.O. Box 29, Riversdale, 6670, or e-mailed to: gerard@hessequa.gov.za and info@hessequa.gov.za.
Inputs can also be handed in at any of the municipal offices at Gouritsmond, Albertinia, Still Bay, Melkhoutfontein, Riversdale, Heidelberg, Slangrivier and Witsand.
Feedback on submissions received will be addressed during the public budget meetings in April 2026 and will be incorporated into the Final Budget Document, together with NERSA’s published determination in May 2026.
Persons who cannot read or write may visit any municipal office during office hours for assistance.
