This notice serves as an update on progress relating to the ongoing Eskom outage affecting certain rural customers in the Albertinia and Riversdale areas who have remained without power since 11 May 2026. These customers remain the highest restoration priority.
ALBERTINIA / JAKKALSVLEI
Multiple poles and conductors were damaged during the incident. Eskom teams are currently replacing damaged poles and restringing conductors in the affected sections.

RIVERSDALE RURAL / FARMS TOWARDS HEIDELBERG
Multiple poles and conductor sections sustained damage across various parts of the network. Eskom teams remain on site carrying out repairs and conductor restringing.

Hessequa Municipality will continue to provide assistance to Eskom teams, where possible and as may be required by Eskom, until all affected customers are restored.
