Overberg Water is experiencing problems with reservoir levels due to load shedding. Reservoir levels dropped significantly, causing build-up of sludge in the reservoirs that spread throughout the network. Overberg Water has turned off the water supply to Heidelberg and Slangrivier to raise the reservoir levels.
The network is currently being flushed to get rid of the sludge in the water. Water tanks will be placed at the Municipal office in Heidelberg and Duivenhoks Community Hall to provide residents with clean water. Water is transported from Riversdale to replenish the Reservoirs in Heidelberg and Slangrivier.
