WATERBEPERKINGS STEEDS IN PLEK

Hoewel die Hessequa-streek die afgelope maand heelwat reën ontvang het, is waterbeperkings steeds in plek vir die hele streek en moet inwoners hul waterverbruikpatroon vestig.

Die instelling van waterbeperkings is noodsaaklik in alle gebiede en op alle dorpe om die behoud van waterbronne te verseker. Waterbesparing moet deel word van verbruikers se lewenstyl.

Hessequa munisipaliteit is dankbaar vir die reënval in die opvangsgebiede, maar is die landelike gebied en areas wat deur die brand geaffekteer is, steeds droog.

Hessequa munisipaliteit het op 6 Februarie 2018 vergader met Departement Plaaslike Regering Wes-Kaap, Water en Sanitasie Nasionaal, Eden Distriksmunisipaliteit en Breede-Gouritz water catchment management area oor droogte-assessering en maatreëls wat getref kan word.

WATER RESTRICTIONS REMAIN IN PLACE

Water restrictions for the Hessequa area remain in place. The municipality urges residents to keep using water sparingly and establish new water consumption patterns in their homes.

Water restrictions are necessary to conserve water resources and become part of your everyday life.
Hessequa municipality is thankful for the rainfall we have received in the water catchments areas, but rural areas and the areas affected by fires are still dry.

Hessequa municipality met with Department of Local Government Western Cape, Water and Sanitation National, Eden District Municipality and Breede-Gouritz water catchment management area on 6 February 2018 regarding drought assessment and measures that can be taken.
