Arrive Alive Campaign

The annual Hessequa Arrive Alive Campaign took place on Friday, 11 December 2015, hosted by Hessequa Traffic and the Tourism Department. As far as we can gather, this tradition of welcoming visitors to the region through a road block and then giving them a gift, started more than 15 years ago with the then traffic chief handing out apples to motorists.

It has grown considerably since and today all sorts of goodies are included that are unique to Hessequa – biltong, rusks, discount vouchers and coupons – and this year even little indigenous trees by the brilliant Grootvadersbosch Conservancy.

A big thanks to all the tourism businesses who sent gifts to be included in the bags, to Mayor Emor Nel for attending and helping us hand out the bags, and for the traffic department for organising the event and for keeping us safe on the roads this festive season.
